How you can help A gift to RCLC is the simplest form of giving from your estate. There are several types of charitable bequests by will or beneficiary designation. For example: Specific Bequest: A specific sum of cash or property. Percentage Bequest: A percentage of your entire estate, or the balance remaining after making specific bequests. Remainder Bequest: Remaining principal after a survivor has had a period of life income. Life Insurance Bequest: A change of beneficiary or outright donation of a policy. Example of a bequest "I hereby give and bequeath to the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy (or any successor organization), a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of California, with a principal address at P.O. Box 1511, Gualala, CA, 95445, ___percent of my estate, (or) the sum of ___dollars, (or) the following assets___________." Other options Other options for charitable giving offer important benefits such as tax deductions, avoidance of capital gains taxes, income for life or a term, and reduced probate expense. RCLC will work with you, your lawyer, or your estate planner to develop a planned giving trust to fulfill your requirements. |
